Part time,  3 - 5 days per week. Shifts may be allocated on weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.

Seasonal- initial contract will run until 31 Dec 2023, exceptional candidates may be able to extend.

Hours- 8:30am - 5:00pm including 30 minute unpaid break.

Wages-  £11.00 per hour.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Church Farm Events Ltd is a farm park with a variety of attractions and farm animals. It also hosts a variety of busy seasonal family events throughout the year too. It is set in beautiful Thurstaston, Wirral- just one mile from the nearest beach with fantastic views of North Wales and the Dee estuary.

We are seeking to recruit staff for part-time roles. The job will include general animal care, tractor driving, leading timetabled activities and other general duties to maintain and grow the business.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, self-motivated and reliable. The ideal candidate would be someone who can work as part of a team but also on their own. A full driving licence is necessary and an animal related qualification would be desirable. This is a customer-facing role so a friendly personality is a must too.

The job is varied and interesting and you would also be involved in helping to create the different events which we run throughout the year. A more permanent position may be available for suitable candidates too.

MAIN ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST

Responsibility

  • Setting up park equipment each morning

  • General farm park maintenance

  • Building fences and animal compounds

  • Providing excellent customer service

  • Setting up farm vehicles

  • Checking vehicle safety and setup at shift start

  • Loading and unloading the public on and off the trailer in a friendly way

  • Delivering necessary safety information to passengers

  • Report on feed or equipment shortages

  • Reporting on complaints or problem

 

Finance

  • No financial roles associated with this position

 

Cleaning

  • Ensuring vehicles and trailers are clean and clear of rubbish

  • Maintaining toilet and handwash facilities

  • Making sure all public areas are clean and free of rubbish

 

Health & Safety

  • Ensuring customers adhere to all safety information

  • Removal of broken or unsafe equipment until it can be fixed

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

Demeanour

  • Must be friendly and welcoming

  • Must be able to talk to the public well

 

Experience

  • Full driving licence required

  • Previous tractor driving experience is desirable but not necessary

  • Animal husbandry / care experience is desirable

  • Some DIY / maintenance skills are desirable

  • Gardening / landscaping skills desirable

 

Applicants must be 18 years or over and willing to have a DBS (formerly CRB) check.
